The story is about Nikita Kryukov, a hockey player known in the recent past, who chose the path of a hockey agent as a continuation of his career. Still remaining a maximalist and believing that everything can be fair, Kryukov is trying to build his career in the agency business. Nikita helps and protects his clients in every possible way, solving the most unexpected, sometimes unrelated hockey issues. However, by helping others, Kryukov is left alone with the problems of his personal life, which are much more difficult to solve.

Nikita Kryukov is a successful hockey player in the past, who ended his sports and then his agent career because of his uncontrollable anger. No one is ready to work with him. Suddenly, he receives a message about his mother's death. He breaks off to his hometown. But it turns out that this message was sent by the mother's youngest daughter from her second husband. After his father's death, Nikita almost immediately went to Moscow, and then to America, and all this time he did not communicate with his mother — he could not forgive the fact that she almost immediately got together with another.

Belgrade during the height of the war Yugoslavia in 1999. Kaja struggles with daily destruction and the constant threat of being drafted, but also with his impending divorce from his wife Tijana, who wants to emigrate with their son.

Two young men from North Dakota, Kip and Job are shown their "Alternate lives" as an escape from what they called, "Minot-ony." Their journey begins when they visit Van Hook (arm), a part of nearby Lake Sakagawea. While at Van Hook they meet Andrew, a Native American man who tells the young men, "Sometimes the circle of life gets twisted." When they return to their small town, they find themselves wanted for a murder they didn't commit.
